The Dodgers Clinch the NL West

Filed under “Things that we thought happened already in July”, the Dodgers clinched the NL West.

Deciding last year was too stressful with having the deciding game 163, they decided to clinch it in just 146 games. This is the seventh consecutive year that Los Angeles has won the NL title, and they’ve made it to the World Series in the last two seasons, but haven’t managed to win it all since 1988. Clearly they’re not messing around this year, but will this large cushion of games that don’t matter between now and October be too much? If I was a betting gal, I’d have my money on them making it to the Series again this year.. just hopefully not against the Yankees. That’d be boring. Congrats, Dodgers!
