Hunter Pence Returns to the Giants

Hunter Pence is heading back to San Francisco! The four time All Star outfielder spent most of the second half of his career in a Giants uniform (from mid 2012 – 2018). He was a fan favorite who helped the team win the World Series in 2012 and 2014. He struggled at the end of his time in San Francisco. In 2018, he saw his production drop big time – lagging in hits, RBI, home runs, and overall ability. He signed with Texas as a free agent for the 2019 season, where he brought his average back up from .226 to .297, hit 18 home runs, and knocked in 59 RBI in just 83 games. His OPS was back up to .910 from an abysmal career low of .590 in 2018.

Pence signed a one year, $3 million deal with up to $2.5 million in bonuses for the 2020 season. He’ll join grandbaby Yaz, Alex Dickerson, and Steven Duggar in the outfield. Welcome home, Underpants!
